The real thing
A high-speed bi-mode train built by Hitachi Rail, running on electric power under the wires and on diesel engines away from them. Great Western Railway, TransPennine Express and Hull Trains have run them, each under its own brand. It is almost the same as the Class 800, with more engine power and bigger fuel tanks for longer unelectrified stretches.
